RRP: Ever wondered what superfoods are exactly? Well look no further!

It’s a word (or two) we’ve all heard before. Superfood. But what exactly is a superfood, I hear you ask? Well, quite a lot of foods are under this category, but there’s a few in particular that are almost vital to include in your diet. 

The best superfoods are known to fight dangerous free radicals, a type of oxygen molecule that is thought to have a small part in causing diabetes and cancer, as well as contributing to the ageing process. Foods like blueberries are known to be high in antioxidants, which protect against these free radicals.

So, here are the ones you should be eating…

Quinoa

Quinoa is quite an easy one to include in your diet, as it’s so tasty with pretty much anything savoury, have with fish, chicken, salad or veg. 

Goji Berries

Goji Berries are tasty and can be thrown onto a bowl of porridge or with some greek yoghurt for a quick and easy breakfast. Also a perfect snack to keep in your handbag.

Blueberries

Blueberries are pretty essential, and they taste so good! A bowl of blueberries in the morning with some yoghurt and honey is the perfect way to start your day.

Avocado

Avocado. We LOVE avocado! Split in half and put onto a poached egg. Simply delicious! Or mash up and put with some rye bread, so easy yet super healthy.

Kale

Kale isn’t the tastiest food in the world, but stick it in a juicer with some apples, avocado and whatever else you fancy and voila! 

Nuts

Nuts are a perfect snack and contain essential fats our bodies need. Stick some cashews and almonds in a tuppaware and away you go. 

Dark Chocolate

Dark chocolate is our favourite superfood, a could of pieces a day help lower risk of heart disease. Let’s get snacking!!
