Healthy is happy

RRP: The easiest way to be healthy is by being happy!

Being happy isn’t about having material things. A new handbag or a new car will give you short term happiness, but love and health is something that will give us lifelong contentment.

If we’re healthy, we look good, if we look good, we feel good and so on. So get yourself into some healthy habits and you’ll start to see and feel a huge difference within just a couple of weeks.

Drink water. You can never drink too much water. It hydrates us from the inside and plumps our skin as well as making our hair shinier, our face glow and our bodies healthy.

Eat when you’re hungry and stop when you’re full. This is one of my favourite pieces of advice, we need to listen to our bodies and follow what they’re telling us, our body looks after us so we need to look after it!

Cut out refined sugar. Like it or lump it, refined sugar can be described as a somewhat poison. It does our bodies absolutely no good and causes us to crave more, therefore leading to dangerous problems such as heart disease and obesity. It’s filled with what we call empty calories, and lacks any important food components, such as fibre, which helps us to feel satisfied.

Exercise. It releases a little thing called endorphins, which is a chemical that makes us feel happy. If you manage to squeeze in just 20 minutes a day, that’s fine for your wellbeing! But try and do some high intensity workouts every day if you really want to see a difference in your body. Try out some HIIT classes at your local gym, beware though – it’s not easy, but you will feel ah-mazing.

Lastly, but certainly not least, try and eat a plant-based diet. It doesn’t sound easy, especially if you’re no Jamie Oliver in the kitchen, but it’s what our bodies NEED and trust me, it’s really not that hard. Check out my recipes for some simple and quick plant-based recipes to help your body be the absolute best it can be.
